Yahoo is on the verge of cutting between 600 and 650 jobs, or nearly 5 per cent of its workforce, in the latest attempt by chief executive Carol Bartz to reduce costs and reposition the company in faster-growing markets.
Workers affected by the cutbacks are set to receive notifications starting on Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the plan. Yahoo refused to comment on the cuts.
